Cost
Option 1: June 24-July 24, 2011 – Three weeks of classes in Joao Pessoa; one week in Recife and Rio de Janeiro. Estimated participation fee: $3,095. Apply by February 28, 2011, and save $300. Estimated fee: $2,795.
Option 2: June 24-August 13, 2011 – Three weeks of classes in Joao Pessoa; one week in Recife and Rio de Janeiro; three additional weeks in Rio de Janeiro. Estimated participation fee: $4,495.
Apply by February 28, 2011, and save $300. Estimated fee: $4,195.
The program fee includes:
- Housing in Brazil
- Two meals a day in João Pessoa; breakfasts in trips to Recife, Rio de Janeiro
- In-country transportation and lodging
- Entrance fees and excursions
- International travel card
Program costs do not include:
- Round-trip airfare (about $900-$1,300)
- UVU tuition (approx. $140 per credit hour) – earn 6-10 credits! (culture class= 3 credits; beginners/intermediate PORTclass=4 credit, each advanced PORT=3 credits)
- Passport
- Tourist visa
- International Health insurance (required)
- Day-trip lunches and dinners
- Discretionary spending
The $195 nonrefundable application fee and the $300 program deposit must be paid to the UVU Cashier in BA109. Submit these with the application form to receive the $300 discount.
Check with your Financial Aid officer if you’re eligible to get some financial aid for Study Abroad. Some scholarships available.
