We’re ready!

After coming back from a small but very successful 2010 Study Abroad in Brazil, and upon beginning our classes here at Utah Valley University, we’ve been asked by quite a good number of students if we’re doing another one in 2011.  We visited some PORT classrooms, and it seems that we’ve a demand again for 2011!

So now…

Here’s our 2011 UVU Study Abroad in Brazil

Option 1: June 24-July 24, 2011 – Three weeks of classes in Joao Pessoa; one week in Recife and Rio de Janeiro. Estimated participation fee: $3,095. Apply by February 28, 2011, and save $300.
Estimated fee: $2,795.

Option 2: June 24-August 13, 2011 – Three weeks of classes in Joao Pessoa; one week in Recife and Rio de Janeiro; three additional weeks in Rio de Janeiro. Estimated participation fee: $4,495.
Apply by February 28, 2011, and save $300. Estimated fee: $4,195.

Anticipated curriculum: Portuguese 1020 (4 credits), Portuguese 2010 (4 credits), Portuguese 202G (4 credits), Portuguese 3520 – Brazilian Culture (3 credits), Portuguese 490R (3 credits), Lang 291R (1-3 credits).  Please note that no PORT1010 will be offered abroad – so go ahead and start a PORT class now so your experience abroad will be even more fun!

A few students with special projects may consult with the Study Abroad Director to see how we can accommodate their interests.  These will be considered on a case-by-case scenario, and kept at a minimum.

Participation fee covers: Housing, classroom instruction, transportation within Brazil, entry fees on side-trips.

Participation fee does not cover: UVU tuition (approx. $140 per credit hour), passport, visa, meals on side trips, round-trip airfare to Brazil, discretionary spending.
